What does an estimate cost?
Nothing. George comes out, walks the job with you and gives you a number before any work starts.
What area do you cover?
Capac and the surrounding St. Clair, Lapeer and Macomb County towns, and further for larger jobs. If you are outside that, call anyway and you will get a straight answer.
How soon can you start?
It depends on the season and the weather. Spring and fall run busiest. You will be told a realistic window, not a date that sounds good on the phone.
Do you do small jobs?
Yes. A day of dirt work and a week of clearing both get quoted the same way.
Who actually does the work?
George runs the equipment. That is why the bids are accurate and the schedule holds.
Do you work in winter?
Some work carries on through winter, and snow work is handled separately. Frozen or saturated ground changes what is possible, and that gets discussed up front.
How do I get a price?
Call, or send the form on the contact page with the town and what needs doing. Photos help.

Land Clearing & Site Prep
Do you haul the debris away or leave it?
Either. Some jobs get the brush mulched and left on the ground, some get everything loaded and hauled off. It changes the price, so it is decided at the estimate, not after.
Can you clear around a pond, a creek or a treeline you want kept?
Yes. Tell us at the walk-through what stays and what goes, and it gets marked before anything is cut.
Brush Hogging & Mulching
How big a tree can be mulched?
Small standing timber and brush. Anything bigger than the head can handle comes out with the excavator instead — we will tell you which at the estimate.
Will the mulch hurt the field?
No. It breaks down and feeds the ground. On a field going back to pasture it is usually the better finish.
Grading & Land Leveling
Can you fix a yard that holds water after every rain?
Usually. It starts with a look at where the water comes from and where it can go. Sometimes it is grade, sometimes it needs drainage as well.
Do you seed after grading?
Grading and prep for seed is what we do; the seeding itself can be arranged or left to your landscaper.
Driveways
How long does a driveway take?
Most residential drives are a day or two once we are on site. Long or wet ones take longer, and you will be told which at the estimate.
Can you resurface a commercial lot?
Yes — lots have been graded and resurfaced with millings, including storage and parking areas.
Drainage
Do I need a French drain or just grading?
Often just grading. The estimate says which, and why — we would rather sell the smaller job that works.
Where does the water end up?
At a daylight outlet, a ditch or an approved discharge point. A drain with nowhere to go is not a drain.
Material Hauling
Can you deliver without doing the work?
Yes — material can be delivered on its own, or delivered and placed while the machine is there.
How much material do I need?
Tell us the area and we will work it out at the estimate rather than guessing on the phone.
Pole Barn Pads
What do you need from me before you start?
The pad size and elevation, and where you want it. If your builder has a print, that is all we need.
Can you prep for a garage or shed too?
Yes — same work, smaller pad.
Residential Excavating
Will the machine tear up my lawn?
There is always some disturbance, but the route is planned and the ground is repaired before we leave.
Do you dig ponds?
Yes — new ponds cut and shaped, and existing ones cleaned up.
